Sea Witch by Sarah Henning review

I have just finished an amazing book that truly blew my mind away, a book called Sea Witch by Sarah Henning. It truly is my new all time favorite and I just loved how this book was laid out.

The book takes place in the Kingdom of Havnested where the main character of the book, Evie, is on a boat party  when a natural disaster occurs. Of course, four years before, Evie sadly lost her best friend to the sea. But when the boat suddenly tips over and the prince falls into the sea and then a girl is spotted that looks exactly like her friend, the friend she thought she lost saves him people start to think she's not dead even though this new girl says "I'm not her".  But when Evie finds a secret about her she must do whatever she can to save her and hopefully, not get herself killed too.

Now I don't want to spoil the book but just a reminder this explains how she became the person at the end of the book, and then you will realize what I meant.

The best part that really stood out was how the character really felt alive, like you could feel and see what they were like. For example, when Evie sees that her the girl that looks like her friend she starts to feel as if she isn't dead after all, and I believe that the reader will feel her emotion too. The author just put so much detail into her book that you just felt as if you were standing there with them.

I just would recommend this book to people who love the brothers grim side of the little mermaid. I am giving this book a five star review.

Black Bird of the Gallows by Meg Kassel

I finally got a chance to read an amazing book called Black Bird of the Gallows by Meg Kassel, who
is a Rita Nominee, and is just an amazing author. This book was so incredible that I could not put it down.

The book is about a girl named Angie, who has a crush on her neighbor, but they could never be together for certain reasons, which I do not want to spoil for you. But he is different from everybody at their school, and is fitting in fine and all but he has a big secret that nobody can know about. Angie has a major crush on him not just because he is athletic or tall, but he just didn't seem real. But when Angie is playing her double life as a DJ, bad thing are starting to happen in the small town of Cadence where she lives with her father. But when her neighbor spills his secret to her, she must do everything she can to survive, but still try to stop him from doing something so bad she could even die.

This book was better than I thought it was going to turn out, because I read the first few chapters and just was about ready to put the book back on the shelf and grab a different one. But as I read more I couldn't stop turning the pages. I believe that if this book was turned into a movie it deserves an incredible action scene with music, but of course not all dreams come true. Over all I would give it a pretty good rating. This is truly a 4 1/2 star book!
