The Summer of Broken Things by Margret Haddix Peterson Review
I have gotten a great book called The Summer of Broken Things by Margret Haddix Peterson, who i got the liberty of meeting at the Cavalcade of Authors that happened this year. This was a truly amazing book and i can't wait to read more of hers.
So this book was about two girls who used to be friends when they were really little but aren't friends anymore since they don't hangout anymore. the two girls are Kayla and Avery. Avery's dad is rich and is going on a business trip to Spain, and is forcing Avery to come along, and he says that she can bring a friend with her because he is going to be gone for a little. Avery already had someone in mind but her father says that he already chose someone for her. He chose Kayla, Avery of course isn't happy about this and complains because Kayla isn't really one of her friends. They go to Spain together, but Avery loses her passport and isn't very happy about it. They are being forced to go to a Spanish class to learn Spanish. Avery doesn't want to go and makes Kayla cover for her. Kayla is enjoying her time in Spain until when the passport gets delivered the girls find out a deep secret that could change their life.
This was such a good book to read, but was a little confusing because it changed back in forth between the two characters. This deserves a 4 1/2 star because of the detail that was put into and the hard work of it. Also if you have any good books to read please leave me a comment and i will see if i can get to the book.
