Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge review
I have just finished the most amazing book called Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge which really gave great start to the summer.
So this book was about a girl name Nyx who is forced to get married to a Gentle lord who strikes deals with people and is a demon. She was forced to marry him because of a bargain that her father made with him. Now Nyx is mad but happy about marring him because she doesn't want to marry him, but knows that if she can kill him she will save all of Acadia, the place where she lives. When she destroys him she will have saved everyone and avenged her mother who died because of a bargain that had been made. So after the wedding that he wasn't even there for she is forced to stay inside of his house forever and never leave. The first night at dinner, she tries to kill him by stabbing him with a fork, that doesn't work out and he tells her something. That if she can guess his name she will be free of him, if she guesses wrong she will die. Nyx doesn't answer his name every night she is there. Nyx know that she has to stay clear of the shadows and find the hearts of fire, water, air, and earth. She finds the first one two days in when she meets a slave in his house named Shade, who is like the Gentle lords shadow. Shade goes after and loves on Nyx showing here the Heart of Water. He also shows her the Heart of Fire, which Nyx sees a vision in and almost dies from the fire, but the noble gentle lord saves her and they start to fall in love. At this point she must continue her quest to destroy him but that becomes even harder because she loves him, and when she starts to find out more about this life that she's living she must chose which side she wants to take.
This truly was a great way to kick off summer because of all the suspense in this book and I totally recommend this to people who love this kind of stuff. I give this a 5 started review for this amazing book and the great in-depth details that it provided, also if you have any amazing books that you think I should read this summer please leave a comment and I will see what I can do to get to it.
